We will take instructions and provide you with advice to ensure that all aspects of the adults well-being including care and financial and matters are considered and that your case is progressed as quickly and as sensitively as possible and in the best interests of you/your family.

Should the matter, however, require the assistance of the Court, we are experienced Court Solicitors and will guide you through the process, step by step until conclusion.

Costs of the Action

We will firstly assess your eligibility for Legal Aid Advice and Assistance. Your own means will not be taken into consideration, but consideration will be given to the adult’s income for this purpose. Should you be eligible for Legal Aid Advice and Assistance then this may cover the costs incurred up to and including the date of a grant of full civil legal or you may be required to pay a contribution towards these costs.

If you wish to proceed to seek an Order from the court, you may be eligible for Civil Legal Aid. We will make an application to the Scottish Legal Aid Board on your behalf at the appropriate time. The Board will assess the merits of the case only.

Further information on fees and outlays will be provided to you in our firm’s Terms of Engagement letter should you choose to instruct our firm.
